![]() This lovely and cozy inside, beautifully lit, is located on Twelfth Avenue in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. One was certainly a regular, telling her companion what she usually gets.Momiji is a stylish Japanese restaurant for sushi & upscale cocktails in a serene space with a Kyoto courtyard. Several customers made small talk as I waited. They passed the beer test with flying colors (if the food is done before I can finish a beer it's not that fresh). I decided on the Chicken Teriyaki and 1 egg roll to go. I was greeted right away and asked if I had any questions as I looked at the menu board. Walked into the perfect lighting - not too bright, not too dim. I was planning on a Mexican place but they didn't do take out (can't put something in a box?) so I was on my way to another Asian place but saw this. Only $9.99 plus a card, so not a big deal money wise but their support stinks. Had a good day until I had to deal with TracFone support (forgot my phone so bought a cheap one for this week). ![]() I don't think a restaurant has ever gotten me out of a bad mood. Oh well, atleast I have something for lunch tomorrow. Oh, one mistake which happened was that instead of a Chicken Teriyaki Roll, I ended up getting a Chicken Teriyaki plate.I made my order from the Sushi Mori website (they also have a store on the "west side"). Now I have a long list of other rolls to try on future trips. The Spider, Shrimp Tempura, and California Rolls were on point, and I got totally stuffed munching on them. It was closing time, but there were 20 people still in the dining area.Īfter we got home, I have to say that Sushi Mori didn't disappoint. We ended up getting there a little late, but it was no problem. So, I ended up ordering about (4) rolls, (1)nigiri, & a miso soup. Gave a call to Sushi Mori and they said they were open till 9pm and that they still take take away orders. Unfortunately, it was late.well 8:30pm is late for the Tri-Cities, and our choices were scarily limited. Well, tonight (Saturday) I was up for trying something new, and I was thinking sushi. Well for most of my time there haven't been many options. Hard to believe I've lived in the Tri-Cities for so long and have not had sushi here. Update on May 27th 2022, the food is still amazing! So is the service! I enjoyed the Godzilla roll far too much. I could be far more precise in adding wasabi and not killing my tongue. Usually wasabi is a bit flaky but not Mori's and I enjoyed that. That detail made me so impressed, a feat not achieved by every sushi shop.Īt last, their wasabi consistency is very soft and I had never seen that before. The crunch of that entire roll was soooo tasty and for some reason the avocado did not taste funny after being fried, it kept its freshness. That Godzilla roll had me on the edge all the time as I tried to finish the last 4 pieces. Now, I can finish two rolls of sushi most of the time but this was an exception. I would've loved avocado and shrimp ontop but hey, it's not my recipe. Not much ontop gave it that basic most people would enjoy. Definetely a 8.5 as it is not as fancy as other tiger rolls but it didn't dissapoint. So I tried the Tiger Roll and it was not much spefial. This roll gets a 10 in presentation, taste, delicacy and every darn element. Drizzled with beautiful colored sauces and slices aligned, stacked so neatly onto the plate. That Godzilla Roll deserves every bit of its name that tempura was sticking out on the first piece like Godzilla's back. When the sushi came through without the crab, I was astonished. I appreciate her attention to that detail and saved me from needing a emergency room visit. The first batch of sushi came with the crab but the waitress noticed as she walked to my table. ![]() ![]() Other than that I kept everything else the same. I ordered no imitation crab on both my rolls. I was definitely a little nervous on the specialty roll but sushi chefs excel not only in presentation but also in making sure the customer itself is satisfied. It took me a while but I settled onto the Godzilla Roll. I knew the Tiger Roll had to be tested for quality and one specialty roll. I was starving so I had to get some big rolls. It was sufficient enough but due to COVID some tables weren't available. Keep in mind however this restaurant is not huge. Immediately upon entering I could appreciate the cleanliness and how neat the tables were setup. Like I have said in past review specifically of sushi restaurants, I have been opening my palate. I had heard of this restaurant for many, many years before I ultimately settled on trying it on Thursday August 26th.
